30 Days of Blogging #12:
A Quote That Means a Lot to You

from 'Elm' by Sylvia Plath
'Elm' by Sylvia Plath is one of my all time favourite poems. Without wanting to sound like a hippy, it really speaks to me, you know?

In fact, I'm planning on incorporating its third line into my next tattoo.

  1. Hi Anna,

Thank you for following my blog. Sylvia Plath is a favourite writer we have in common. I've read through some of your posts and I'm so sorry to hear of your horrible experiences. I relate to so much of it. I'm a little older than you but I was lucky enough to meet someone when I was 23 who took me in hand and dragged me through my dark malaise and destructive habits and brought me bedraggled and dazed out the other side. He's my best friend and my own cognitive behavioural therapist! Thankfully, I've been able to deal with a lot of negative and harmful thoughts, mind racing and not knowing what the hell is going on in my brain with his help and support and with some professional help. The fear of your own thoughts and feelings is something I very much relate to. Medication has helped me a lot despite my initial cynicysm. I really hope your counselling sessions continue to be helpful and that you find the help and support you need. There is definitely a light at the end of the tunnel and even though we may not be able to see it sometimes it's always worth searching for xxx

  2. Thank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to read my rambling posts. It's always good to know that there are people out there who know where you are coming from.

I <3 feedback so if you want to make me smile, leave me a comment
